Competences:

• Drafting laws and by-laws;
• Development of expert analyses, information and proposals related to the situation in the area of ​​electricity, gas, coal, oil, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency;
• Identifying strategies and development policies in the fields of electricity, gas, coal, oil, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, and proposing measures to improve the situation;
• Collection, monitoring and analysis of data on trends in the energy sector in the country and the world and the impact of these trends on the situation in the country;
• Monitoring and implementation of international and domestic initiatives, projects and programs in areas within the competence of the Sector;
• Preparing and leading the BiH accession process with new international agreements;
• Reporting of institutions in the country and abroad on the situation in the energy sector;
• Cooperation with relevant institutions at the state and entity level;
• Analytical monitoring and development of expert analyses, information and opinions in the fields of electricity, gas, coal, oil, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, and international cooperation in terms of sustainable development, as well as the development and implementation of BiH's own programs and strategic documents and international studies in these fields;
• All other activities in the field of international and domestic cooperation that prove to be necessary for adequate monitoring of the situation, implementation of policies and implementation of the necessary measures and projects in the field of sustainable management in the areas within the competence of the Sector;
• Proposing a policy of electricity, gas and other energy transmission, as well as energy policies for managing the single electricity market in BiH, as well as its connection with other BiH energy systems;
• Coordination of the use of energy resources in cooperation with the entities and the creation of an appropriate database;
• Collecting and analysing statistical data of the electricity, gas, oil, renewable energy and other sectors, including import, export and transit;
• Coordination of the activities of international institutions in order to achieve a synergy effect in the development of the energy sector according to the set goals in the process of harmonization with the EU directives / standards;
• Implementation of projects, informing relevant bodies about the situation and problems related to project implementation, proposing measures to overcome certain problems and implementing the established policy and enforcing regulations in accordance with international and domestic standards, monitoring and executing the plan and program of project accounts;
• Preparation of financial plans and final accounts of projects, conducting bookkeeping and treasury operations, execution of procurement tasks by projects and all other financial material activities in accordance with the requirements of the project documents.
