The Icelandic Federation of Trade
The Icelandic Federation of Trade is a trade association that represents companies involved in most types of business and trade, importing, exporting, wholesaling and retail distribution. It represents companies at trade fairs in Europe, the United States, The Far East and throughout the world. The Icelandic Federation of Trade offers business services, participates in trade promotions on behalf of its members and acts as a mediator by helping companies from abroad to link up with prospective business partners in Iceland and welcomes inquiries about import or export possibilities in Iceland.

SIPPO (The Swiss Import Promotion Programme)
SIPPO (Swiss Import Promotion Program) is a new import promotional program under the patronage of SECO, Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs. The program supports private entrepreneurship in developing and transitional markets, which strives to gain access to the Swiss market as well as the European Union markets. SIPPO service includes advisory services for products and marketing, promotions in Switzerland, as well as assistance in participating in selected European trade fairs.

TECHNICAL PROVISIONS AND STANDARDS - useful information
Norway / Island
Most Norwegian and Icelandic technical regulations and standards are the same as in the EU except for a few remaining areas where Norway has stricter provisions than the EU.

Switzerland / Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein for the most part applies Swiss technical regulations and standards deriving from its customs union with Switzerland.
The Mutual Recognition Agreement between the EU and Switzerland covers the following areas:
- Machinery
- Medical Devices
- Gas appliances and boilers (Hot water boilers)
- Construction products
- Electrical equipment
- Measuring instruments and pre-packages
- Motor Vehicles
- Agricultural and forestry tractors
- Medicinal products, Good Manufacturing Practice, inspection batch and certification etc.
For all other areas, the products must comply with Switzerland's national requirements.
