The European Commissionhanded over its Questionnaire to Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 9, 2016. The Questionnaire is an official document by which the European Union assesses the readiness of a country to begin the accession process. The questionnaire contains a detailed list of questions that through its structure follows the structure of the criteria for EU membership, and its aim is to provide a comprehensive insight into the political, legal, social, economic and administrative system of the requesting state through assessments, and assess compatibility with the system and values that exist in the EU and the Member States.

The Questionnaire contains 3,242 questions distributed within the Political and Economic Criteria, and 33 chapters of the acquis. The Ministry is in charge of preparing answers to a total of 356 questions from the Political and Economic Criteria and from 23 chapters of the acquis, and is one of the most important institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this process.

After the entry into force of the Decision on the Establishment of Working Groups for European Integration ("Official Gazette of BiH" No. 34/17), working groups for European integrations (36 working groups in total) were formed, and the order of the chairmanship of the mentioned working groups was established. Representatives of the Ministry are chairpersons in 10 working groups, as follows:

- The First Presidency (the Working Group for the Customs Union and the Working Group on Foreign Relations),

- The Second Presidency (the Working Group on Freedom of Movement of Goods, the Working Group on the Right of establishment and freedom to provide services, the Working Group on Fisheries, the Working Group on Entrepreneurial and Industrial Policy, the Working Group on Environment and Climate Change)

- The Third Presidency (the Working Group on Agriculture and Rural Development, the Working Group on Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Policy, the Energy Task Force).

In addition, Ministry representatives are members in 20 working groups.
